Unfortunately not located in New York, it's on its own worth a trip to lovely Litchfield to check out Charym. Since I have had my first Epicurian facial there it has become the level at which I measure others. Does the therapist explain why and what and how something is applied? Usually not really, but at Charym I was smoothly guided through the process and - maybe this is a guy thing - but I much appreciated to understand what a Cinnamon peal does and for the organic facial that one can quickly eat some of the cream away (if no one is looking). On a more serious note, the products are of great quality, the staff is really nice and the massage (get the relaxing oil one) is just really nice. Many good 5* hotels should come by and learn something!

A perfet getaway. Every little detail was thought through, from the gift at my B&B to the warm massage tables. The therapists were exceptional and the treatments not standard fare. Love it and will be back!

I went to Litchfield on 2nd January, driving for hours through the ice and snow of North America, from Upstate New York to Connecticut, but determined to get there as I had a massage and facial booked at the new spa, Charym.

I had heard nothing but rave reviews for the last 6 month, since its opening, and was so keen to have treatments myself.
It seemed like the perfect way to start the year, especially after the indulgence of the holidays.
Well, was I in for a treat!

It must be said that I was pretty exhausted after the drive and very ready for my treatments.
I needed to relax.
Oh boy!

The massage was so fabulous that I went into a dream world, not knowing where or how, just warm fragrant oils poured all over me as I lay head down on a heated mattress, warmth enveloping me, and soft comfort all around. Gentle but firm hands moved so nimbly all over me it became impossible to tell where the sensation of touch actually initiated, my reactions so slowed down and trusting and soft floaty music taking me further into this out-of-this-world experience.

It was the best massage of my life! The facial continued along the same path and again another wonderful experience. Cleansing, purifying and restorative.

I would travel to the ends of the world, and will travel back to Litchfield as often as I possibly can, to have more of these extraordinary treatments, and to try new ones on the very selective menu of holistic pleasures and cures. The aromatherapy oils were the best I have ever used and, sensibly, I bought some while there which I pour into my bath and so manage to transport me back to a time of healing indulgence and sensual pleasure.

If only there were more places like this................. Come on, Charmyn, please open spa in London, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles, and my be even in my little home town in rural England!

I went back to Charym over the holidays for an organic skin food facial which was absolutely amazing! It was one of the best facials I have ever had and loved every second of it; from the smells and texture of the products used, to the face, arms, shoulder and chest massage, as well as the extremely comfortable and warm bed you’re laying on, to the relaxing music. I felt nurtured and pampered by Lauren who was my therapist, and the spa in itself is truly beautiful and welcoming. So I would highly recommend the trip to this beautiful region of Litchfield County!

Therapist was excellent! Excellent bodywork and very relaxing. I wish there could have been a shower on premis.
